Happy new year to all of you who are reading my Medium post(s). 😊 When I first started writing on Medium, I wanted to share my personal experiences, learnings and mistakes I made along the way as a record so that I could refer back in the future. I am very grateful when people found the posts and find some of them useful as well.
Going into 2023, I will continue to document findings, tips, and tricks that I have learned through different channels (eg: my current full-time job @ Meta, a couple of side projects, and random automation scripts I wrote to make my life easier). There are a few things/technologies that I definitely would want to research/build on top of further:
- Next.js — Next.js provides a number of additional benefits such as improved performance via server-side rendering and automatic code splitting. It has strong community support and leverages my love and experience with React 😄.
- ChatGPT/OpenAI API — When ChatGPT was first released, it creates massive trends in creating generative content. This unlocks a number of different use cases such as creating marketing materials and text summarization/rewriting services.
- More serverless architecture — If you have read my posts from the start, you might also see that I am a huge fan of serverless architecture. Other than following closely the updates from the major cloud providers (eg: AWS and GCP), I would also like to explore other options such as CloudFlare workers.
- Understand a little bit more about future trends such as VR/Web3 and create a few fun prototypes with these
In addition to technical writing, I would like to try to share some learnings from books or things that I learned from my day-to-day this year. I believed that teaching/sharing knowledge is an effective way to learn and retain information. I will also love to hear feedback on how I could improve my writing. :)
Once again, thanks to Medium for a platform for me to express my thoughts, and thank you all for spending your time with my posts!
